Nellie Lindquist & Freja Sofie Kirk

Tour Life (2026) is a collaborative video work bringing together the practices of Freja Sofie Kirk and Nellie Lindquist for the first time. In Tour Life, a large mobile hydraulic stage slowly unfolds. Mobile hydraulic stages are typically used for the rapid setup of outdoor events and are designed to be easily dismantled and transported. As such, they constitute a flexible infrastructure for facilitating shared experiences and emotions. The stage moves rhythmically up and down, almost as if it were breathing, unfolding mechanically like a flower or an awakening animal.

Based on a shared interest in how emotions are produced and staged through images and physical structures, Freja Sofie Kirk and Nellie Lindquist’s video work Tour Life examines how collective images and emotions are generated and, quite literally, staged through the choreographic unfolding of the stage.

Tour Life was the second exhibition in Fotografisk Center's 2026 Breaking program, dedicated to showcasing different film formats.
