‘Roundtable’ was a performance and publication by Nellie Lindquist in collaboration with six invited co-readers. It explored if reading together allows us to become co-producers of text. The performance itself appropriated the format of a panel discussion with the readers reading aloud from the script in the publication distributed among the audience. Printed on yellow paper, the publication took its form from the concept of the ‘yellow papers’, a type of sensationalist newspaper emerging as the late 19th century’s version of clickbait. The publication featured a script that intertwined original writing with citations, with a design that intentionally broke as many conventional newspaper publishing rules as possible to challenge how the performance of knowledge contributes to the construction of hierarchies.
